My car is a 2013, and I've already replaced the right inner tail light. Now the left inner tail light is failing too. On both lights it was the strip of LEDs that lights up when you put the headlights on.

Has anyone else had issues with their tail lights failing?

Praying my Full LED headlights last longer... That would be one expensive failure.

Ive had a similar issue with mine. I pulled out that assembly, played and disconnected the wiring. Reconnected and assembled. Issue went away.

I replaced both trunk lights with Valeo units.

My original Audi lights were made by Valeo.

I have issues when I wash the car. I’ll get a taillight fault and the inner right housing lights up dim, the strip when lights are on. Last time I took apart and noticed some wetness on the connector and area. Dried out and normal. I now wash my car with a small mf towel stuck between trunk and light assemblies. So far so good. Seems all the direct spraying is picked up by the towel instead and no more faults.

Both my inners failed. Same top LED strip and around the same time. I got a fault on the instrument cluster when it rained or it was really cold.

This is a common issue on the C6.5 LED taillights where the internal LED board corrodes and ends up failing, or in my case, the lights functioned perfectly but still received an error.

In those cases, some DIY fixed the board but it's easier just to replace in my opinion.

I tried that on the right side originally, and the issue still persisted.

Thats probably similar to what's happening with mine. Early on when I fire began receiving the message on the dash, the lights still worked perfectly fine. Slowly they began to be worse and worse (started with some flickering here and there then began to flicker aggressively, then eventually died all together.

Thats kind of concerning that water is getting into the housing. Maybe Ill take my light out this weekend and inspect it.

Having the same issue. I bought some butyl tape, but know I don't know if I should remove the foam gasket and just use the butyl or just butyl between the gasket and the trunk or the gasket and the light... So many possibilities

i had water in my tail light. fixed issue by peeling back foam and sticking some double sided tape under it to make tho foam gasket push off the assembly more and make a better water tight seal
