Okay so must preface that I'm not being paid/sponsored or otherwise receive any discounts on anything **but would be awesome** from any of the following reviews.
CF Steering wheel w/ airbag cover.
Got connected w/ a guy out of china w/ the following site. Sent them prob 900ish for the steering wheel w/ airbag cover. Maybe 900? Dunno. Don't remember. It took prob 3 weeks but was around Xmas/New Years, so delays expected and understandable. My guy in China and I exchanged prob 20 emails during the building/shipping duration, which admittedly is fairly OCD, but communication was not lacking. Quality was not either. Super impressed. Install really isn't super complicated. Turn wheel 90*left, unclip tab, (same on other side) 90* right, same airbag comes out, unclip connectors, then ride the constant wave of anxiety that you're going to break your wheel trim while popping set buttons from the hard-foam steering wheel lining. Swapping airbag covers was, admittedly, pretty sketchy at first. Upon 2 hrs of OCD level research, you unclip the 4 white spring-loaded clips, unbolt the 4x 8mm nuts, then work the cover from off and around the (actual) airbag. The new cover fit right in place. Take special note of which was is up vs down. Had to do it twice because my failure in prudence of R&R.
My DS1 is pretty rad to say the least.. I also went for an OBDEleven Pro from ECS Tuning for 130? Dunno. ZERO REGRETS. The system is amazing. The on-the-fly map switching is crazy. Please see below demo w/ new steering wheel. Not mentioned in video is, to enter map-switching mode, hold cruise control *on* for 2 seconds, then check engine light will flash twice.

SRM Long tube install - Despite my best efforts to remove the inlets w/out removing throttle bodies, I surrendered to the will of the sawzall. Okay, clearer tempers did prevail and after TB removal, super simple. Some silicon lube spray inside the new JHM inlet tubes did also help massively. All went back together and zero issues.
If anyone has any questions - although I still consider myself a complete novice, I'd be happy to blindly lead the blind in either of these installs.
Also - officially, CTS intake w/ 3-4k miles on it, OEM flat-bottom steering wheel w/ airbag cover and OEM RS7 inlets w/ bolts for sale. Make me an offer.

SRM Longs are an easy install....they really are. There are a couple of YouTube videos online showing how to do them. If you've never done anything like this, go slow and make sure you have your tools and don't lose screws/bolts, etc. For a beginner, this is very doable.

Not a fan of fractured carbon fiber shards (or plastic) hurdling toward my face at 100-220MPH, should I find myself involved in a front end collision. Love the alcantara center wrap in the airbag but again, there's supposed to be a small horizontal incision on the underside that runs all the way across the round plastic bezel piece, just outside the logo rings.
The D4 S8 plus received an OEM cut-and-sew leather airbag-- I'm still looking for that part number.

Damn it looks neat and cool on you for being creative but like gravy said, you just added shrapnel to your air powered bomb that could shred your face or injure your passenger in even a minor front end collision. I'd take that off immediately. Maybe turn it into a wall hanger for your garage? Sounds like you went to a lot of work but I'd hate to see what happens when the airbag deploys. How is the airbag supposed to work with this cover?

About the airbag cover - YES! All valid. I wish I had take some pics while I was in there - BUT I did notice a horizontal factory perforation along the inside, I believe, riding just along the top edge of the Audi logo. There was also perforations vertically along both left and right sides following the inner contour of the airbag cover, which, from what I can see, would split the cover open in the center and open like a pair of sideways double doors upon deployment of the airbag. I did notice matching perforations on the inside of the CF airbag cover, but, I'll take a closer look on the outside later today to see if there seems to be any indication of an engineered tear-point on the face of the cover. Those airbags will jack you up more than the actual crash!
Now begins the quest for some CF Paddle shifters. Thought maybe ALL CF EVERYTHING would be too much. Definitely not. CF Paddles are getting the green light.
For anyone w/ their stock steering wheel - I honestly 'enjoy' my CF steering wheel probably more than any other single mod because its literally in hand the (mostly) entire time I'm driving. Or - maybe still the honeymoon phase, lol. Either way, super happy w/ that spend.
Anyone w/ CF Paddle recommendations???

Hey GravyTrain and JRYtheS4 - I removed my airbag cover again AND good news for my face following any poor decisions. The inside of the suede inner area does appear to be creased on the inside and designed to open as OEM.
Anyone have any CF Paddle recommendations???

Excellent decision! Mitigated risk of plastic shards wedged in your face.
I posted these in another thread recently-- they're fully molded microswitches around CF paddles, better than stick-on extensions. You might have seen this already:

Install is fairly straightforward, does require you remove the airbag and MFBs to pull the paddles.

I've been very impressed with their stuff. I'm shopping for some big CF paddle extensions now. The majority aren't quite as big or have the appeal I'm looking for.

Hey, was you OEM wheel flat bottom? I had the headed round wheel & think the airbags are a bit different.
I don't have 4 white spring loaded clips & I'm hoping I can release my cover without unscrewing anything, can someone help? Attached my style airbag.

Very nice wowlau, but I have to ask, is that carbon designed to split? Bc IIRC, the airbag cover splits across from 9 to 3 o’clock, and if the carbon doesn’t break with it, that could be a pretty dangerous projectile at a few hundred feet per second.

With, what seems like, a single layer of carbon fiber epoxied on & an Alcantara center with plastic black trim, im sure this is a rep cover, but it does have the outline inside for where the original would split open.
This airbag cover definitely should still split horizontally across from 9 to 3 o’clock, but the side outline (about half inch under the carbon from the center) is what I'm iffy about.
I do remember seeing a blown carbon Audi airbag once on instagram, but cant find it now.
Does anyone have photos of a blown carbon fiber Audi airbag covers they can share?
