So, I have a S7 with some weird GPS issues.

A couple of months ago I lost GPS position/signal while driving on my way home from work.
No errors in VCDS, but replaced the GPS antenna as it is a common fault on these cars.

The same issue is still there.

Tried:
Disconnected car battery
Tried fix regarding Audi TSB on GPS error
Replaced head unit with a used one (Might have same issue?[=(]
Aftermarket GPS antenna fitted.
Updated MMI3G+ firmware to k900

No joy on the items done above.
14 Satellites are visible by the GPS received but none connected?

Does anyone have any other suggestions than those above?

Is the data base version from 2011? Is the current European firmware version K942? Do these have to relatively match in age? As the system is "seeing" satellites one would think a hardware issue is less likely.

Database map is 2020/2021
Firmware is now K942
Re-installed as of today

Tried 3x MMI3G+ units now. I did do the "walkaround" on the Component protection. Copy/paste the CP from original unit into the replacement mmi using HEX/VagCan Pro. ( https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/827171-Component-Protection-Removal-Through-VCP )

Clueless as of now

For what it's worth, on my Green Engineering Menu the GPS version is 603. I have no idea if that changed when I did the firmware/database upgrade or if it's even relevant. The system reports 13 "visible" satellites (none over Norway) and 10 "used" satellites, with the calculated latitude/longitude etc. listed. Maybe check TomTom website to see if people report a similar problem and if so, if it's more likely hardware or software? That might yield a clue.

Interesting. Might have to try to figure out why version is stuck on 500. Tried for force only GPS firmware update yesterday evening, but went from 500->500.

With all the MMI`s I have tried they all say the same. 14GPS sattelites, but none used. A bit strange in addition to no errors with VCDS

Strange indeed. I did a quick Google search but could not find a post from anyone who seemed to have technical knowledge (I'm no exception). Thinking logically, no VCDS errors, all other MMI functions working properly, no change with "hard reboot" or software update. Here's some wild speculation. The Nav system has to be "activated" in software. Could your system somehow have lost its activation? I infer from the instructions I was given to do the firmware/map upgrade that the activation code may be stored in some component other than the MMI. Just a guess. There is an AZ member (Sima-Koya) who seems knowledgeable about MMI software; does upgrades/activations over the internet. Maybe try to engage that person in diagnosing your problem?

Some good pointers there. Seems like the GPS is just "stuck" with no errors stored. I`ll try to reach out to him to see if he got some tips&tricks for me. Thank you!

Got the issue fixed!
Even though I tested 2 aftermarket GPS antennas the issue was resoved when I replaced the roof antenna with an original one. The defective antenna was full of codensation

Good for you and thanks for the update. Curious that the aftermarket antennas did not work.
