Im new here in TX and Im planning to go stage 2 IE tune. It will require an aftermarket downpipe to do so. Will it pass the state inspection with the tune since it gets rid of the CEL? or does anyone know a place to go to pass the inspection or get a sticker? Im in DFW area. Thanks

Outside of the CEL, the other question would be about forcing Readiness of the system. I haven't had to mess with that on this platform, so I couldn't tell you.

If you got to the B8 Q5 forum and search out posts made by user DJN876, he has one detailing his progression through a custom exhaust system that does dive into using spacers on the 02 sensors to get it to pass inspection.

I am not sure of the details but I know he did a bunch of monkeying around with it.

Not sure what USMCfield MP was getting at but Integrated Engineering would be the company that developed the Tune but not "your tuner". Meaning that wherever (if you're not doing the install of the DPs yourself) you get your car worked on or as some would call it "tuned", they might be able to shed some light on the passing inspection questions you have....

I've been screwing around with cars a long time on multiple platforms and I've never heard an installer referred to as a "tuner". Even on this forum, getting it tuned - or your tuner - has always been in reference to ECU/DSG programming.

Thanks Guys! yeah I was told that an 02 spacer might help. I guess I’ll find out when the time comes

Welcome to dfw...

It's very easy to pass inspection here, there is virtually no point to worry about it .

Most of the them just they give u a pass
