Alright, I tried to run some trans adaptation functions today (cooling valve) which raise the idle rpms when they run, and they basically exited and caused P050600 - "Idle Control System RPM Lower than Expected" in the ECU. I cleared this code, reset all adaptations for the engine, after which P10A700 - "Adaptation regulating flap for intake air soiled" code popped up. Google search showed that "regulating flap for intake air" actually refers to the supercharger bypass valve. I tried to do a basic setting for the supercharger bypass valve in OBD11 and it "exited due to the reasons of safety", although the engine was running at that time (not sure if it needed to be running or not). How do I test the bypass valve before I toss it and buy another one? I think that P050600 might have been caused by faulty(?) or dirty supercharger flap valve aka "regulating flap for intake air". Perhaps it needs to be adapted with engine off?

Yeah, don't run the adaptation with the car running.

Okay, cleaned both tb and supercharger flap valves, both went through the adaptations fine. Changed the spark plugs as well since these came with the engine from the salvage yard, still got slightly fluctuating idle when dsg tries to adapt its oil cooler valve. Can’t even hear the rpm changes but can see the tachometer needle moving up and down slightly when this is happening. Overall, idle is okay in general but getting vibrations in the cabin warm or cold. Might need to swap the coils as well.

Update -decided to replace the spark plugs and coils which came with the new (to me) engine and that solved this. It’s also very smooth now. Now need to fix the exhaust leak from the driver side dp, looks like the mesh is torn. Does anybody know if it’s cost effective to fix the stock dps or another used set of either stock or aftermarket dps is better?
