So, I did my own oil change yesterday...and cleaned my intake filter (IE cold air intake). I used a KN cleaner kit and I was probably stupid to use the spray oil but I did. I was inna rush to pick up my daughter, put it back on the car and ripped across town. No CEL light at that time. The next morning I get the light. I suspect the oil, while I didn't soak the thing, somehow threw the code from the MAF sensor. I kept the car in the garage overnight, code still on today. Picked up MAF sensor cleaner today and plan to remove it and spray it down tonight, while disconnecting the battery (which I tried by itself this am to no avail). Any thoughts on this? If the issue is resolved, how long before the code goes away on its own? Do I NEED a vag reset? Will disconnecting the battery do anything? Does it have to be for a long time? Does the code reset if resolved after a certain number of cycles? It's a 2015 S4 6SPD with 40k miles....any thought would be appreciated! Thanks guys and gals 🙏👍

We don't have a MAF.
Pull the code and report back.

O really?! Guess I would have found that out when I went to clean it...crap. I guess a low oil level wouldn't throw a CEL code would it? It was low, but MMI kept saying it has to be warm, and off, but when it was (not fully to operating Temp) it kept saying the same thing. I have a dip stick so I added more to get a proper level and the MMI now shows a full level. Could that have been it? I don't have a code reader at the moment, that's why I ask...I'll have to source one out. Thanks for the reply.

No, if it was low oil, it would show up on screen on the center of you dash asking you to add oil.

Perhaps cleaning the map sensors is the way to go...

What is the actual code you are getting? That's step 1, this could be related to what you did, or have nothing to do with it at all. Let us know a little more and we can try and help but without knowing what the MIL is on for, it's a shot in the dark.
Those sensors see plenty of oil vapor from the PCV and are fine, I doubt you hurt it oiling your filter unless you totally soaked it.

Thanks for the reply, I don't have a code reader but will in a few days. I pulled the MAP sensors tonight and cleaned them but they didn't look too bad...just a strange coincidence with the timing of what I did and the MIL...will get back ASAP!

thought those were dry filters not oiled.
