What spark plugs are you all running and gap on dual pulley?

Seems after reading a ton of posts on here the stock NGK platinum 8's or NGK BKR9EIX iridium are the most popular choices gapped at 0.024 to 0.026 and a few others.

Any other comments or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks all!

You should add a tune option, different tuners give different recommendations.

agreed... just figured I'd keep it simple this time and people can pick either other or elaborate on their poll pick with a post... what are you running on your apr dp and gap?

are you going to test the 8s and 9s first then vote for whichever run better? [:D]

I've ran NGK iridium 8 and 9 and Brisk 10S. I have had better experience with the stock plugs gap down to .025". EPL DP 93/e40 files. About to switch to 034 and will see how it goes

I am currently running stock plugs with stock gap. Running fine so far with 92 gas or 4 gallons of e85 mix. Might gap it down a bit in the future when replacing new plugs

so between poll and posts seems stock plug and gap are preferred for dual pulley with a close second being smaller gap on stock plugs

I wonder why unitronic, ie and other reputable tuners are advising we go 1 step colder to something like the ngk iridium 9s?

Maybe that works better for people in the south, like FL? I live in NW and the cool weather here might help so I can run DP on stock plugs with stock gaps.

That's what I'm starting to think... strange though that Unitronic's recommendation is ngk iridium 9s seeing as how they are located in Montreal, Canada, the frigid northeast and conduct their testing there... I can't imagine they would specify the ngk iridium 9s for only summer use.

Are you folks running the iridium 9s successfully located in the warmer south?

Going to see if Unitronic can qualify why they recommend the iridium 9s as it seems everyone is having better luck with stock platinum 8s.

Now the only question left is between the stock platinum 8s and iridium 8s, does anyone know which would be better on dual pulley or what difference is there, if any?

Any advise or experience appreciated.

Thanks all!

Running fine with IE tune DP TB and the 9’s plugs, I’m in SoCal though and 91oct and a E20-24, I know tuners say to run these plugs, specifically EPL says to run the step colder plug in SoCal with 91oct

Anyone that has modded their cars, plugs have always been trial and error, go with the hottest plug and biggest gap that works, you’d have to play with that on your own though

From a manufacturers/tuning perspective though, they’d recommend the safest option as to not detonate your engine and have it run for the majority, 99% of the market is just a set it and forget it, the rest log and test and fine tune

It sounds like just playing with two sets of plugs (stock or colder), and fine tuning the gap is a hassle for you, just stay with the step colder, the minimum gap, and possibly just replace plugs sooner than the recommended interval
