First thread here [:D] I recently picked up a poor abused Cabriolet and after reading some threads around here I've got a yen to swap in a quattro drive train. A quick search for specs online showed that the wheelbase is just about the same as the sedan. Has anybody documented a Quattro swap into a Cabriolet? Any obvious reason it couldn't be done?

I don’t see why not

I guess my main question is can the Quattro parts from an A4 sedan be used or are some/all specific for the Cabriolet?

The drivetrain components should be largely interchangeable. You may want to compare part numbers on something like ETKA to be sure though.

Drivetrain interchangeability shouldn't be a concern, everything should just bolt right in once you have all the right parts.
My only concern would be swapping the trans, IIRC the CVT and manual share the same crank design, while the 6speed auto (Tiptronic) uses a slightly different spline. I don't think you can swap in a TIP trans onto a CVT/Manual engine because of this. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one :)

You can, you just need a bushing to center the trans input shaft.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking based off a cursory search. Good to know because there’s a fairly clean 2007 A4 Quattro sedan with a bad turbo I’m thinking of picking up. That way I have everything needed as a matched set (as long as everything bolts up) and would be able to take my time with the swap.

A local yard had an '07 Cabriolet with quattro so I did a thing...
