View Full Version : OBDeleven DSG Adaptation

There was one thread that was basically the same thing I’m going to ask, but never actually got answered. Hindsight I probably should’ve got VCDS for logging and doing adaptations. Anyways I got my Chipwerke installed and had the laggy shifting. I pulled the negative cable and let my car sit for a bit. Now instead of laggy shifts, they’re smoother but slower shifts. Even downshifts in manual or sport mode are nowhere near fast as normal. I’ve played around with OBDeleven but I cannot find a DSG adaptation. Can it do a adaptation or will VCDS be the only way outside of a dealership (which I won’t use but just adding)?

Do you still have chipwerke installed? It’s probably causing those funky shifts.

As said chipwerke is probably cause of the issues.
Adapatation can be done the exact same way as vcds, when you connect obd11, go into transmission, then adaptations and follow the same steps as vcds. If one step completes, but the next fails, restart the obd11 app and try the step that fails again until all 5 are completed.
I have done this after every time I've swapped dsg tunes, everytime with obd11

Man I must be overlooking that. I’ll go back and check OBDeleven again. It only started after I put my Chipwerke on and they told me to do an adaptation to fix the shift issues.

I believe you need the Pro license, not 100% as mine came with it so I never saw what it looked like on the base license

I do have the pro license on my OBDeleven and found what I think is what I need. How long does the clutch and main pressure valve take to adapt? After I did them it just sat on the “basic setting ended” for a long time. Probably past five minutes and it didn’t seem to do anything. Am I missing a step?

Odb11 won't give you the same feedback vcds does. I usually let it sit a min and move onto the next step.

Yeah mine didn’t have any steps after I swiped the bottom to start the process.

I’ve done it a few times using OBD11, basic setting ended means it’s done and you can go back to the previous menu/next step. Sometimes you have to quit and relaunch the app between after settings end.

Gotcha. I will go do that and see how it works after that. Thank you.

Well I did the basic setting in every spot I could for the transmission that I thought was correct, but I still have the weird shifting. Sport mode doesn’t downshift like it normally does and manual mode is weird too. I’m not sure if something is going wrong with the adaptation with obd11 or if I’m just being that dumb with it.

Did you ever fix this problem?

I just gave up on OBD11 doing anything that was needed and just let the car do it’s own thing, after awhile it got back to normal. Now I have a TCU tune so I’m not worried about adaptation anymore.
