Hey guys I had HFC ( they melted) so I wen to TP’s and the car is embarrassing to drive.
I removed the baby resonators a while back, I have stock center muffler and rear mufflers both (RS7), sounds like a civic!!
What can I add to deepen the sound. And please no Magnaflow 11385 suggestions, I’m selling mine as I removed it to put the stock suitcase back in, that sounded like crap too. Thank you

u never tried the 11385 with the stock mid muffler? most add it close to engine and remove the small resonators near flex pipes to help with test pipe rasp , but they all keep stock mid and rear mufflers not put inplace of mid muffler
Do you have pictures of the melted cats?

I did it was really loud with the test pipes, kinda boomy, the exhaust tone at idle and driving it a lot better but under acceleration it’s tinny as hell!

Probably oil, the motor went south! I just got it back yesterday. Car was down for 5 weeks.

Probably going t go with JHM set up with cats, I cant stand the smell :( It's winter here windows are up and I smell it in the car I !! Smell when I get out UG. I know this all on me but good god, LOL BTW the drive to my store this morning was the WORST, so damn LOUD :(

hope works out good bro, so damn pricey haha, i had magnaflow cats and magnaflow 11385 with new flexs all INSTALLED for about 700 total.
now just need the test pipes put in..... so honestly dnt know how its guna sound. but i figured puting cats and a resonated x pipe both where front mini resonators was better then just cats down there since ur removing cats and resonators off the stock downpipes. so now it still has the same number of mufflers/ cats/ resonators as stock.
been riding around with stock cats and magnaflow cats installed for past 3 weeks. still 4 second 0 to 60s no loss of power ( obv still removing stock cats asap)

LOL I did sounded like sh&t , boomy. But the stock center muffler back in (RS7) and it's quieter at idle and cruising but when i step on the gas it sounds like lawnmower ( CIVIC) I'm completely embarrassed to drive the car. looking and JHM baffled and catted system, the fuel smell is :O!! Yes with the windows up

yea me too!! Don't want to waste another 2K on this!! 6 months use for the GSI cats then melted kinda pissed me off.. Hope yours works out :)

sorry didnt see the reply before, very weird its boomy it helped tone down my exhaust, we will see wat happens im still adding back s6 mufflers and removing my Vibrants at the rear

It's amazing how common the 3.0t platform is across Audi's yet there is no standard fix for cat failure that keeps the exhaust noise in check.

Here are the pictures of the destroyed cats. Picture 1 is left side I think and the 2 and 3 are the right side.

Seems like there is a root cause for this. It's very unlikely they failed due to being defective. Failure like this is most likely tuning related, fueling issue or from driving extremely hard.
With that said, what are your driving habits, did you have pops and bangs tune and any fuel related problems recently (I think you mentioned an injector issue at one point)?

Hey man I was running a crackle tune but was a while back and only for a short period of time like 3 weeks maybe, then took it off. I drive like Miss Daisy most of the time LOL. Yea I bad injector, and the cylinder 4 went south.

What cell high flow cats were you running? I’m getting 300 cell race high flow cats but not if there gonna melt out too

Will be very curious what sounds you get with the JHM pipes and your current axle back set up.
Recently had the JHM TP's and the catted, baffled DP's installed on my A6 and its very quiet. Now looking for an axle back system to get some type of noise. Been holding out hope JHM releases their axle back back exhaust sometime soon, but this waiting is getting tough as the car gets on in years. May bite the AWE bullet.
Wanting to change tunes to 034 or IE from Uni and run E40 but cautious of how that will affect the uxhaust, heat, etc...

Quite is what I’m looking for again, or at least not eat splitting loud, :/. Someone else was telling to swap out the mufflers and I was looking at the AWE touring mufflers for the S4?
Tune wise go IE on E40 the car is STUPID! LOL, I was running for a month or so before a swapped back 93 to get inspection. I was abs still am having readiness issues :/.

This information should have been in your opening statement ... You make it sound like crappy CATs failed all by themselves ...
You still have not stated what brand of CATs ... and CEL count ...??

UM they cause the engine failure thanx :/ The melted and caused and over boost issue that in turn blew the motor.
CATS were Redstar TP's with GSI 300 cell cats, I was told they melted because a ran "crackle" for like 3 week, MAYBE a month before switching back to just E40. I was on E40 for a few months (3). Now back on 93 trying to set readiness.
So I'm not saying their product is crappy! Sean has been more than helpful, and I have their TP's on the the car now,

I need to take videos of my current setup. Got it installed around a month ago.
I have JHM Test Pipe, JHM HFC/Baffled Downpipe to an S6 Sport exhaust. I really like the notes it sends, but it is raspy for sure. I also have an exhaust leak because the Downpipes I bought from JHM were meant for the A6 stock catback and not the S6, so the coupler doesn't quite fit. I ran the JHM TP and DPs with A6 oem catback for a while and I hated the sound, it was essentially the same as OEM but with a tin can sound from the middle of the car.
I'm thinking the bigger piping from the S6 exhaust is the current raspy issue. It is loud for sure, and I have the crackle tune on for fun. Sounds like it needs to be removed though.
I'll get some videos later today and put them on youtube for you guys to check out.
Side Note, ANMS4, were your HFC in place of the OEM Cats?

Yes sir. Those are the clips he texted to me :). I’ll have vids of my set up this weekend. I bought a set of used AWE resonated DP’s too, it’s still a bit to loud for me. Sounds great driving around but there are times a part throttle it’s loud, and WOT it screams! (Not a bad thing) just normal driving conditions can get a tad loud
I also want to give props to John at AWE he got me the exhaust in 1 day! Told him my situation and got it to me in 1 day.
