I live in florida so the weathers already been warmed up[:D]
The color is duplicolor Gloss Black (high temp engine paint). And then i used the same brand (high temp) clearcoat. The decals i got off of e-gay.

Great tempory solution until you get your BBK, which you and your car are SCREAMING for since you did that.

How long does it take for that to dry? I've been thinking of doing it, but I'd need to find alternate forms of transportation if it takes a while, as I figure it does.

i was at the auto parts store and was torn apart between red and black. Also i don't know if you guys seen me post a week or 2 ago about being torn between the two colors.

Well since i couldn't really decide (wasn't sure if red would look ricey). so i decided I couldnt go wrong with gloss black. And I'm happy i did since i hear many people say that their red calipers turned burnt orange/brown after a while.

As far as BBK, i think I might just do the A8 upgrade since I really don't track my car, or race it for that matter. The biggest i may go is K04, so i don't think my car will need anything more than the A8 upgrade.

Hah we both have 2001 Santorins and we both painted our calipers recently (two days ago for me) but I went a different route I was kind of scared of. I tried the Ford Dark Blue High Temp paint and it was perfect. Dark and pretty close to the Santorin color. I don't have pics but I might get some after I get my lowers painted. Looks good.

damn.. def a worthy mod, I hear you guys when you say the red might be kinda GHEY. i mean if ya have the brembos or big brake kits, the red will look super sick.. but for our weeee little calipers it might be overkill. The gloss black is super super clean and classy. Def the route I am going. you guys with the rings on the calipers, send me the ebay number. I am gonna get some!!!

Has anyone used the kit you buy to do this not just the spray cans ??? I think it is brush on paint not spray. also i have a red A4 and can't decide if i should do black or red cailbers or try to find color coded red ??

I did a brush on kit, was very happy with it. Not a fan of just taping off and spraying, wanted a bit more control.

I dont mean to sound like an ass but,

Doesn't that look brown to you? .. and why did you only paint part of the rotor "hat"... ?

If I were you, I would go w/ something more Gloss Black.

Prime it, Paint It , Clear It!

Otherwise ! Looking Good boostedup

Black looks good, nice job.

I personally think it's a bad idea to paint stock brakes red. All it does is draw attention to those little guys, and looks silly.

BBK, then red is understandable. Otherwise, I'd stick to graphite/gunmetal, or black.

yea i thought red was too much for stock, so opted to keep it low-key.........
