is that normal? if not what can be causing it and what can I do... car runs great and no codes.

the oil I removed smelled strongly of gas... is this a by product of dual pulley?

I change the oil and filter every 8k km (5k miles) once a year or less... I am on dual pulley for 10k km now... no track but occasional hard driving and daily driving

car has 50k km now

thanks!

From my understanding gas in oil could be many things. But most commonly its due to a bad hpfp. If you have misfires could also be bad injectors. I am no means a expert but the best way to tell the health of you car is by logging it.

Has anything changed recently? Tune? Maintenance?

How long have you owned the car? How long did the oil take to turn dark after the last oil change?

A darker lubricant appearance following a recent oil change is most definitely a sign of a strong detergent/dispersant additive package, which is common for high-end synthetic engine oil. Those particular additives are strongest when new and acts as a cleaning agent with any contact with lubricated components (exactly why frequent oil change is recommended to keep pretty much all additives in tip-top operating conditions, chemically speaking). A darker color by itself isn't detrimental in any way regarding that product performance index (unless there's a visible thickening, sludge creation or apparent glitter).

If you tend to do short trips without reaching a stable operating temperature (enhanced by winter driving), it isn't that far fetched to observe slight fuel dilution after 8K Km drain interval. Our cars tends to run rich from factory and depending on tuners, can be quite a frequent occurence during normal driving scenarios. That unburnt fuel tends to seeps between piston rings and cylinder liners and mix with oil.

Dark oil appearance soon after change is common for synthetic oil for our cars. I cannot comment re: fuel smell.
