If there’s another thread let me know, but I was curious if anyone here has ran up against a C/E63 5.5TT or 4.0TT or BMW M5/6/8? (Stock or modded for both parties) Has anyone come from one of the fore mentioned cars to a S6/7/8 or vice versa? How did they go? What’s your opinion? I’ve watched YouTube videos but I don’t mind a discussion about them either. These are usually more informational than YouTube comments.

S6 is more like the MB E550, BMW M550i equivalent. I have ran a 5.5TT E63 and he couldn't edge me out, but I'm running a JB4

A few months ago I ran a new M8 competition.. needless to say we achieved a high rate of speed. It was pretty heads up but I'm sure he's stock and I'm not.

Yeah but you're also in an RS7

A stock C7.5 RS7 and a "new" (2020) M8 Competition quarter mile approximately a tenth of a second difference. 🤷

I have a 17 S6 and my wife has a 19 BMW M550i. I think the BMW has a little advantage according to my butt dyno but Audi is much smoother delivery and their all wheel drive is much better in the snow compared to the BMW. First world problems.

I left it at an S6 because most guys mod them with RS7 turbos and a tune so it’s basically an RS7 now.

The E63 S's powerful twin-turbo 603-hp V-8 engine is a mild-mannered partner and a maniacal monster all wrapped up into one. Left in Comfort mode, the engine and nine-speed automatic transmission react with stoicism and smoothness. Select any of the sportier drive modes and the powertrain unleashes relentless fury. Gearchanges are lightning fast, and the engine's 627 lb-ft of torque tears the tires with rampant rage. In our testing, the E63 S charged to 60 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds and ripped up the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds at 128 mph. Despite being saddled with a pair of turbochargers, the 4.0-liter V-8 sounds almost as wonderful as AMG's naturally aspirated V-8 engines of yore.

And you was close to him ...??

That's close to a second faster than the 2021 C63 S AMG. I didn't know the difference was that big. Good to know

Also, seems like there was a small improvement from the 2020 to 2021 times for the E63 S. Not sure if that's because of a power difference or conditions. This is via Car and Driver

You are talking about the W213 E63S. I was referring to the W212 (Read: 5.5TT)....

E63 is no joke, but he couldn't pass me on the highway when the lane opened up and we both hammered down.

Sorry to revive this thread, but anyone does anyone here have personal experience on a E550 4.7 Biturbo? I’ve looked on a MB forum and most of the posts were pretty old (like +5 years old) and were about the 5.5 NA. I’m trying to decide about keeping my S4 or upgrading to a S6 or jumping over to the Benz side.

M8 Competition runs 10.6-10.7 at 129-130mph. No stock RS7 is running close to that...
