My front parking camera lens is cracked on my 2015 S6.
I've searched through the threads and even got an excellent lead on the normally $400-700 camera for "just" $200.
Physically replacing may take some work, but what I am more concerned about is calibrating and fault codes.
No one seems to have done this completely and/or fault free without the dealer.
Some say "ignore the faults"...meh I don't like that.
Others say "it can only be done through the dealer"...if truly so then I am sol, but with VCDS I'd think something is possible.
I know one member found a bunch of cool measuring blocks, but I am not sure if anyone tried adjusting any of those to even see if it is possible.
85 - On Board Cam. IDE03355-Static calibration: yaw angle -0.134 °
85 - On Board Cam. IDE03356-Static calibration: pitch angle -1.899 °
85 - On Board Cam. IDE03357-Static calibration: roll angle 0.001 °
85 - On Board Cam. IDE03358-Static calibration: camera height 1327 mm
85 - On Board Cam. IDE02001-Body height left front wheel house edge 0.00 mm
85 - On Board Cam. IDE02002-Body height right front wheel house edge 0.00 mm
85 - On Board Cam. IDE02003-Body height left rear wheel house edge 0.00 mm
85 - On Board Cam. IDE02004-Body height right rear wheel house edge 0.00 mm

I know these are the instructions in the service manual after you set up the camera adjustment board which can be downloaded.
But I do not know if that is even an option to run that calibration mode in VCDS.

Dimension -h- and the distance dimension must now be entered
into the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in “millimeters”.
Performing calibration
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester is attached.
– Select the Diagnostic mode and start the diagnostics.
– Select the tab test plan .
– Select select individual tests and choose the following sequence.
♦ Body
♦ Electrical Equipment
♦ 01 - OBD-capable systems
♦ 6C - peripheral camera control module | J928
♦ 6C - peripheral camera control module, functions
♦ 6C - Calibration, (Repair Group 91)
From here the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester advances the calibration procedure forward.

6C module is listed as Back-up Camera on my car which sort of makes sense, but again, I am not sure if it would work or if there are security codes etc.

Anyway, if anyone knows for sure and has successfully replaced and calibrated the front camera fault free with VCDS I'd really appreciate the info.
Thank you.

I had this issue awhile back. While I was physically able to replace the camera, I could never figure out anything in vcds. Resding the shop manual, I realized there is some sort of calibration device they hook it up to in order to get all the cameras to have a seamless view. I drove around for about a year with the camera ‘off’ a few degrees. I finally paid the dealer $800 to recalibrate it last year. Super annoying.

Thanks, yeah, exactly what I was hoping to avoid...an expensive dealer visit.
If the NV ever breaks it will simply be deleted given how stupid expensive that thing is.

What's the OEM ref. of the front camera?

So the conclusion is the camera can't be adjusted without some expensive instruments at the dealer?

I had an OEM grille put on back in summer and the shop put the camera in ever so slightly on an angle. It's not so bad that I'd go through the trouble of having them take the bumper off but a "quick fix" would be nice.

If you re-use the same camera, then I believe it's possible a slight physical adjustment could be done to get you back in-line, or the expensive dealer visit.
However, if you install a new camera then I think it needs a full calibration, but I'd like to see if it can be done via VCDS.
