So I just changed out my stock Pirellis on my RS7. They lasted 20k miles but are beyond bald, I should've changed them sooner. Anyway, I was surprised to find that they were filled with foam in an attempt to quiet them down. I know this is a trend on Teslas in particular but was surprised to see this from Audi on an RS7. I can't say I noticed a difference, especially seeing as how I negated any quietness from the tires with a non res Milltek. Anyway, just wanted to post these findings for the group in case anyone found them interesting.

My son bought a new RS3 and we replaced the tires at 1,500 miles, it was the staggered set up and the front tire developed a bubble (apparently this happens all the time with the Pirellis) they had the same thing in them, i never saw that before and had no idea why it was un there, crazy

Not only Pirelli but when I shopped for new tires for my RS7 blades, my 1st tire was the ContiSport Contact AO, they have foam also. They must quiet them down somewhat or they wouldn't assume the cost?

My Pirelli's had the foam too and didn't expect to see that in the tires. I've had Hankook and Lexani tires since, neither had foam and both were most definitely quieter than the Pirelli

Foamed tires are a PITA to patch. I couldn't find a shop in FL to patch one of the Continentals that came on my RS7 when I picked up a screw. I ended up having to get all new tires since I couldn't replace just the one (AWD); such a waste. Honestly I can't tell the road noise difference between the Pilot 4S set that went on.

Apparently they barely work: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15345724/tested-do-acoustically-insulated-tires-really-hush-road-noise/
