ECS Gloss Black Diffuser - Seeking Feedback

I didn't see any announcement but I happened to browse ECS's website and to my surprise, they FINALLY released the gloss black diffuser for B8's, so I pulled the trigger on one tonight (This is not an endorsement; no affiliation).

I'm hoping to get some feedback from those who have had their non-carbon fiber ECS diffuser installed for a while, how it's held up. Reason: I'm debating whether I should ceramic-coat it prior to install (or will it hold up fine as-is?).

I have it (for B8.5) and love it. I ceramic coated mine. Take are of it like any other exterior part. I would definitely recommend jb welding tabs to strengthen, and clean out the channel with a pocket knife. Have patience and a stiff drink and it’ll go right in

The only complaint that I have on it is that the material isn't really malleable like the oem piece. I installed it from he middle top section first and the bottom sides I couldn't bend it enough for the bottom tabs to fit in. They ended up breaking but fits nicely still. Looks great and the fit is spot on, just wish it was made out of different material.

Had mine on since summer. Look and fits great! Take your time with install, do not force anything and clean the entire area after removal of factory piece like said above!

Good info here. Could you help me better understand how to reinforce the tabs though? I'm not sure where to apply the epoxy in such a way that the tabs will still fit into the slots.

Damn, that sucks to hear but glad I asked. I'm planning to do a full paint correction with ceramic coating when it's warmer outside, but I can do the diffuser whenever since I can bring it inside to maintain proper curing temps. Sucks I'll have to waste whatever is left since it's only good for like 80 days after opening. Oh well.

By reinforce the tabs I mean the base of them so they don’t break when you are lining everything up and pushing them in with some force. Get the standard original JB weld formula, give it at least 3-4 days to dry, and you’ll thank me later ; )

Mine went in pretty easy, the removal was a pain. I wish they made the part that attaches to the spare flush meet up instead of the gap.

Update: mine arrived, but with 3 broken tabs. I see what you guys were saying about the tabs needing to be reinforced and being very stiff. Looks like they're 3d-printed plastic. ECS had awesome customer service - theyre sending me a replacement with a return label for the broken one, and made a note to package it better.
