I have just bought an aftermarket headunit for my 1998 A6 C5. And I’ve wired up the amp so it turns on with the headunit, but I have no sound in the front. I have converted from single-din to double, but that shouldn’t matter, the original single din concert plays both front and rear completely fine. The aftermarket only plays rear and sub. With an adapter made for Bose system like it says on my doorcards. Anyone got any ideas?

If you have bose and when you put the factory radio back in you get front back that has to be either a wiring issue or a setting on the radio.

I saw a different post somewhat similar, and they said something about having two or four wires going to/from the brown 8 pin connector. They said two or four wires could mean you had bose or not

Do you know anything about the 8 pin connector having two or four wires?

Yes if the brown 8 pin connector has 4 wires that's for the front speakers in non bose cars because the amp powers the rear speakers and the sub but the front speakers are powered from the radio. . If it has 2 wires then it has bose and the 2 wires are for the telephone speaker in the drivers door but all the speakers are powered from the amp.
