P045600 code

I just got a new-to-me c7 (came from a time bomb 4.2 c6), and I found a P045600 code when I scanned it at the dealer, I believe the car may just need a gas cap because the one that's on it won't click, but before I buy one, is the gas cap on the c7 supposed to click when you crank it down? Also MIL is not on. Thanks in advance

Mine clicks but only once then stops turning. So you can’t even go for a few like I do with my work truck

On my C7, there isn't an audible click but after a quarter turn it hits a point of resistance, will turn maybe 1/16 turn further, then spring back that 1/16 so the line on the cap is parallel with the ground. Somewhat like a clicker-type torque wrench...except without a noise.

P045600 EVAP Emission Contr. Sys. (very small Leak) Leak Detected

As other have already said. it doesn't click round and round like the old gas caps. It is sort of a quarter turn and springs back like bahula03 mentioned.
I would (and did) buy a new gas cap for my SQ5 with similar evap code and just completely rule that out then. I get the feeling the systems used to measure this a more sensitive than the build quality of the caps themselves.
~$35-$45 4G0201550M should be the right one for the C7
