So after all my posts and all my issues on trying to get the car togather, finaly today I can say I have a working pc16 a4.
The first drive was impressive. Going from an apr 91oct chip to this, the main diff I have noticed is how fast the car runs through the gears. It actually pulls hard all the way to redline. I find myself shifting at 6k instead of 5k when I want to push the car. I did expect a noticeble jump in tq but I have to say that the tq feel has become much smother, rather then a kick in the ass like it used to be while the pull continues into the high rmps. All in all I have to say I'm loving it.

What else can I do to make this setup even faster? I don't want to go bigger turbo I just want to maximize what I have. I'm replacing the coilpacks, co2 sensor, and fuel filter. I'm also running step cooler autolite copper plugs at a .028 gap and I gotta say I'm not happy with them. The car seems to be misfiring at idle.

So anyone who has this setup any further mods??

join the club! I went pc-16 and the car will misfire when running cold @ idle but goes away when the engine warms up. if you ever figure it out gimme a shout how you fixed it.

oh wow never realized they were that shitty, I only use them for 3-6k and then replace them. I'm dead set on using copper plugs though, what other options in copper do I have??
The car also reeks like gas, so I guess it's running really rich, I know a bunch of people who have had the same problem with their pc16 is turning down the fpr the only option? It's set at 39 psi right now...

NGK BKR7E plugs are the best, and they are copper as well. I got mine set around 38, I find it ran best at 37 though.

So everyone else with this setup do you agree with my impressions. I really expected a big tq kick at the buttom but like I mentioned before it's become smother then the ko3 chip. I'm going to order the 7e's at first and then after about 6k i'll try the 6e's. I might even change them in between runs when I get my car dynoed. Another thing for anyone that's looking to do this GET A NEW CLUTCH, I didn't and it feels like it's about to go any second, I also think that factors isn't letting me feel the true power of the car.

no, the 6 and 7 are just heat ratings. 7 is a colder plug. not exactly sure what that means but Ive been told that 7s are the best. maybe Ill try 6s and see if that fixes my mis-firing.

I noticed that the power is really smooth with the kit as well, I'll hit the highway running through the gears and Ill thing Im doing 100 cuz its so smooth, but Im actually doing 150-160

When I ran logs I was running lean at 39 psi. I bumped it up to 41.5 psi and its almost perfect.

I think the fpr pressure is going to vary with everyone depending on the fuel filter. If new then the pressure should be at about 38psi. It is recommended that the fuel filter and o2 sensor both be changed when going pc16.

yup yup.
i run the pc16 setup as well.
and run BRK7E's at .028"

correct AWE was supposed to release a statement on their website regarding that. dunno if they did.

50k or less on fuel filter
50k or less on O2 sensor.
you may need a new MAF.
plugs with 10k or less on them.

if you're misfiring with 7Es when car is cold (and especially if you live in colder climate) you could try switching to 6Es and maybe run 7Es during summer if you beat on your car. otherwise, all you'll get is black soot if these plugs are not utilized at higher ambient temperatures.

adjust your Channel 04 in leminwinks down few percent and you should notice less missfires at cold startup or none., but change the spark plugs to ngk 6e or 7e

lemmiwinks is only good for dbw cars.

I'd bet the 7e's are causing the misfire at cold startup. Try the 6e's and get back to us.

Quattrocket, My car turns about 6,200rpm at 135mph. How are you running 150-160? Do you have a 2.8 trans?
