Alright so I did the carbon cleaning and broke the connector for the knock sensor underneath the intake. I got a new connector and didn’t take a picture before taking out the wires cause I’m dumb but I did write it down. I’m just curious, what’ll happen if I get it wrong? Will it still just work (it’s only two wires) or will I get an error for a bad knock sensor or something? I’m just concerned about it causing something bad to happen...

Edit: what I have written down is brown position 1 white position 2 if someone for some reason has access to the connector and verify if that’s correct...

Brown should be ground. I just replaced those connectors a few months ago. I’ll see if I marked the page in the Bentley book for a reference.

No worries anymore Canadian, and to everyone else. I didn't realize you could buy elsawin access through Audi now! I had a cracked version but it stopped working a year ago cause of OS updates. Anyways, I bought a day and downloaded all the PDF's (35$ a day, but it gives you "printing rights" which includes just saving the PDF's you need, so if anyone needs ELSA I suggest doing this!)

I found the wiring diagram, and I did have it correctly written down, brown position 1 and white position 2.

If anyone like me accidentally rips the connectors off the wire. You can get replacement crimp fittings from mouser. They are known as "micro timer" connectors. I got all 3 types they offered as I wasn't sure which it was, at only 1$ a piece it wasn't bad and I would rather crimp on new fittings than splice in "repair wires" from ECS. Link below to one of them to give you an idea.
