View Full Version : What to do with my Audi?

I have a 2005.5 A4 B7, CVT, FWD 155k.

It’s now my third car and I don’t need it anymore.

I just don’t know what to do with it. It has some issues:
Leaking rear manifold (bolts, stripped out bad)
Front bumper torn off (partially)
Fuel gauge doesn’t move (even after new lpfp)

I can’t knowingly sell it unless the person is a mechanic and is willing to almost pull the engine to replace the rear manifold. (Could also use a timing service). Either way, these repairs are beyond my skill level. And the car is not worth having it professionally done.

My question is, what you do if you were in my shoes?

Try to sell it?
Donate it?
Scrap it?

Please save the “you suck as a mechanic” comments. I already know that, lol.

Just try to sell it and be upfront with known issues.
Make sure you state that car is being sold as-is and you have done your best to list/describe all known issues to you.
"Mechanics Special", and price is as such.

OR

If you have the space and the time/patience, start parting it out.

The car is worth more in parts than as a whole.

You have 3 choices as I see it. Sell it cheap as is.

Scrap it.

Part it out and spend a lot of time taking things apart. This might not be a viable option for you but it will get you the most money.
