Go figure the day I order some speakers from the kit offered on here, my sounds goes out. I can’t put the volume up or down. When turned the car on I heard a sound and then after that nothing. I think I checked all of the correct fuses. The 30 amp fuses in the right side of the trunk and they are all good. The mmi works just fine turns off and on however no audio. Could it possibly be a bad amplifier?

Would anyone be able to guide me on this please? The stock amp is it on the left or the right side? This is a non b&q stock system. There is an odd burning smell coming from the left side of the trunk of that helps any.200544200545200546

The stock amp is inside the DVD drive. In the dash on B8 and glove box on the B9

The box in your trunk is for the backup camera. If you had B&O it would be on top of that box in the trunk.

Sent from my iPhone using Audizine (http://r.tapatalk.com/byo?rid=87676)I can confirm this IS your amplifier on the left. Doubles as the radio module too. Mine shorted due to the issue of water dripping into the trunk, module went down and whole MMI stopped working (B8.5 a5 with NAV, runs on the MOST optical interface). I went and got a used amplifier from a q5, plugged it in, and I got this issue where I can not adjust the volume until I coded it for the a5 and got the dealer to remove component protection. What version of the MMI system do you have? Any updates on this issue?

Yes I actually just got my replacement and swapped it out. Other than having to go to the dealer to get the component protection removed it’s working. Not sure what happened but it most certainly burnt out. Where the amplifier sits with the fan evidence of it burning out can be seen plus it smelled burnt on the one I took out

Still tracing down exactly how it comes in, possibly through the arm for the hatch. I'm keeping an eye on it because time to time, I find more water back there and I go dry it up so it doesn't short again.

I’ve heard this is an issue and didn’t pay attention if it was happening to mine. I will double check for this as well
