What is this and why is it leaking oil?

Perfect thanks. Have you rebuilt it before? Seems to be at least somewhat accessible unlike most other parts

yeah rebuilt mine too .. piece of cake.. just tighten that back panel cross torque pattern and its not very tight. you what to compress that oring evenly

Yea there’s some oil that comes out, best to tear it down over a rag or two. As the internals are engine oil lubricated.
