Did a hardcore exterior detail on my new ride today.
2 bucket method with chemical guys honeydew foam and pressure washer cannon.
Chemical guys wheel cleaner with brush, wheel well scrub, and lug nut brush.
Mothers synthetic clay 2.0
Lubed with wash bucket and Clayed entire paint body.
Hydroslick ceramic coating by chemical guys applied with microfiber applicator and buffed off with microfiber cloth. Entire body including headlights, taillights, glass, and trim.
Aluminum and Mag metal polish for polishing wheels and exhaust tips using a drill polish adapter for the wheels and 0000 steel wool for the exhaust tips. Applied tire gel with foam applicator, and then interior which is easy. Chemical Guys all in one interior cleaner on all plastics, vinyl, glass, and trim - and then clean/condition leather seats.
It came out very nice. I don’t have a ton of great pics right now, but I have her where I can maintain/wash her now for the next 6-12 months and the ceramic coating will protect everything from contaminants, UV, and should help to bead water.
Ceramic coatings are basically better than sealants and wax in every way.. this Chemical Guys Hydro Slick Ceramic Coating is supposed to be the first ceramic coating that can be applied like a wax. Time consuming, but very simple.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. It took about 6 hours to do everything. Very worth it. Quite fun. And wonderful results.

Great job with the detail. I use Hydoslick as well, I like to use a clean microfiber bonnet on my Porter Cable to buff clean.

Sure thing... the buffer takes a lot of the elbow grease out of the job but still need to take your time. Keep up the great work.

Looks great, but I would be careful using Mothers Aluminum polish on Clear coated wheels, its made for non coated aluminum and metal etc., and will damage or remove the clear coat on the wheels.

Do you have a product recommendation for the wheels?

I usually use the same polish I used on the exterior paint, then followup with the same Ceramic coat or Wax as you use on the paint.

10/4. The hydroslick can be used on the wheels.
Next time I wash I’ll slap some on.

does the ceramic wax apply just like normal wax with this new product from the Chemical guys?

Yep. That’s what makes it special.
I used a microfiber applicator with Velcro-ish handle. And buffed off with a microfiber cloth. It’s advised to wait 1-2 minutes before buffing off. Longer shouldn’t hurt and as soon as 30 seconds is notably fine.
Chemical Guys claims its the first ceramic coating that applies like a normal wax. They’re proud of that.

Please let us know about the durability....Heard many folks say the Hydroslick looks awesome, but wears off in a few weeks.

Yeah, I’ve heard the same about several spray/wipe ons.
I’ll try to keep an eye on it.

I'd be curious on the wear of Hydroslick also. I use Zaino and it lasts for a long time.

The only thing that turns me off to Hydroslick is that I cant find the silicon dioxide content anywhere.
Nexgen makes their 13% content known about their ceramic coating. I’d like to try their product.

Water is still beading up on the windshield during rain from this Hydroslick coating many months ago.
Seems to still be holding up in a lot of ways. I was very careful and meticulous when applying it. I applied quite a bit and ensured even application throughout.
