I had my car at Audi North Houston for some recall work and a sales guy saw my car and called me about a new RS7 they just received. I told him I wasn’t interested in trading, but would love to see it. It was gray with black optic package. Sticker was $128k.

The headlights, taillights, and interior technology are the highlights. The performance was disappointing compared to my 2017 Stage 2 RS7. It has the sport exhaust and that was also disappointing. Nice car, but reassured me I’ll be keeping mine for a while.

Funny you mention performance as lacking in the RS7.

I have seen a number of reviews and videos of RS6 comparisons as well and they all echo the same thing, lacking in terms of performance.

Sounds like Audi may have skipped a beat with these new RS models.

Another funny thing my wife said when I showed her the picture. She is not really into cars as much and she tries to entertain me, but she said “The front of the new RS7 kind of looks like the new Toyota Camry”. I didn’t think much of it and then looked at the next Camry I saw and she is right!

Shhhhhh stop this nonsense. I need someone with a white 16-18 RS7 to "upgrade" and sell theirs to me haha.

It'll be interesting to see what Audi comes up with in terms of the Performance models (ie RS6 Performance, RS7 Performance). I wonder if they are leaving their powder dry?

Not sure why you expect a stock vehicle to be as exciting as your stage 2. Try apples to apples for comparison.

I’ve said this verbatim - that face is Camry all the way. It’s weird that Audi designers couldn’t see the beautiful form-factor they had in front of them.

The Q7 got new tech (the touch screen, because it was available) in 2019, but they kept the silhouette the same. Why did C8 have to change the exterior styling?

Any links Audisthesia? I'm yet to see/hear anything on this front and a quick Google search only revealed info on the C7.5 model.

That's because the C7 dated back 9+ years (was released in most markets in 2011) and was therefore due for full replacement.

The 4M Q7 on the other hand was introduced in 2015 and was due for a 'nip and tuck' only, albeit they went pretty extreme with the updates here given it is supposed to be a mid lifecycle update.

I see these Hyundai Sonata on the streets everyday and thats exactly what the new RS7 reminds me of

IMO, the C7.5 A6/S6/A7/S7/RS7 are amongst the best looking of all the Audi sedans. I'm disappointed everytime that I see a C8 chassis car.

Disappointing that performance seems worse. Admittedly the C7 is better looking too

2018 RS7 4497 lbs
2021 RS7 4938 lbs
At least for US. RoW might have fewer "standard" options and less weight.
On one spec sheet they list the EU unladen weight (no driver) as 4553 lbs.
US curb weight :Curb weight means the actual or the manufacturer’s estimated weight of the vehicle in operational status with all standard equipment, and weight of fuel at nominal tank capacity, and the weight of optional equipment computed.
Unladen Weight: Depends on the manufacturer and can be the same as curb weight, however, it is often the total mass of the car without a driver, fluid or any additional equipment.
So depending on how they measure and the weight of fluids perhaps. (gas~120lbs, oil~14lbs, coolant~30lbs, brakes, refrigerant etc.~10lbs=174lbs)
So is it conceivable the US version has about 200lbs more "standard" options than an EU market version? (Shrug, maybe?)
