Hello all
I was driving my 09 A4 Cabrio tonight and my airbag light came on randomly.
Scanned the airbag module for codes and came up with this:
01587 - Igniter 2 for Airbag; Drivers Side (N250): Upper Limit Exceeded

Does anyone know what exactly this means, or a cause? Could it be a costly repair? I'm also afraid to clear the code for fear that it could cause the bag to deploy.
I do not plan on tackling the issue myself, as I don't want to screw anything up, especially with an airbag, but any information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You won't blow up the airbag by clearing the code, it's ok! with that being said that code won't go away til whatever's wrong with it gets fixed.

As far as fixing goes I've always left airbag issues up to the dealer, have you had the Takata airbag recall done yet?
