How to get the upshift fart on Audi A7

Hello everyone,
I have an A7 2012 3.0 TFSI 7-speed , i watched some videos and saw some A7's having the DSG fart when up shifting.
i don't know if the gearbox is a dual clutch.
How can i have that sound on my car? did anyone got this sound after a certain update?

I'm assuming you are inquiring about a "crackle tune"? The popping noise in between shifts at higher rpm's. Some tuners make a file for this option.

Post a reference video. I think the sound you want comes from doing a muffler delete. You might get it with other exhaust mods as well.

my Charger R/T did it was great but you need after market exhaust for sure will never happen on stock exhaust

no not the crackle tune, only when shifting gear up, the guy in the below link have a loud exhaust, but u can clearly hear the bang/fart when he shift gears up (2nd to 3rd i guess)

the crackles and upshift fart are 2 different things.

crackles happen on downshifts and throttle lift-off need to be built into a tune.
the up shift fart, is a characteristic of how the DSG and engine RPMs work together. DSG is a necessity for this. aftermarket exhaust amplifies the sound. I do not think the A7 came equipped with the DSG though.

get an AWE exhaust suite. I did and it farts all day and thats all i did

crackle and farts are very different (what a strange convo to have). The ZF8 transmission shifts a hair slower than DSG so its even more pronounced.

You put your left hand under your armpit and rapidly flap the right arm up and down.

Seriously, you need a more open exhaust or you are just farting into the wind. You may need an aftermarket ECU tune, as they run richer AFR at wide open throttle.

Although it is difficult for me to hear any farts in the video, my understanding of the "fart" is that it requires a DSG and ECU or TCU programming. I thought the sound was made by retarding timing plus dumping a bit of extra fuel into the exhaust manifold. Interestingly, my understanding is that it actually impedes acceleration to a small extent, hence why I get no fart sound when I am in Dynamic mode and shifting manually.

Can confirm the car makes the upshift sound even on the stock tune, heard a C7.5 that had a muffler delete at an Audi meet a few weeks back and it made noticeable 'farts' on upshifts.

yes you are right , that's the sound, some find funny, but i like , btw i don't care if the exhaust is still stock but i like having that sound.
i was thinking of starting with replacing the suitcase with an xpipe, but i doubt that it will make any changes.
but since the my A7 is 7-speed, i think it is a dual clutch s-tronic which should have this sound by default.

I have an A6 with the 7 speed same as you, What gave my car the upshift fart was the rear muffler delete and a Revo stage 1 tune, Strangely after the tcu tune the fart went away, and then moving on to dual pulleys and 034 tune ecu and tcu i havent heard it back.

I agree with prestige.phantom, I did the center muffler delete and I can definitely hear the farts on stock ecu/tcu on a ZF8 car. This leads me to think they were already there but completely subdued without an exhaust mod to make it loud enough to hear.

As far as the AWE system goes, there is no rasp and virtually no drone. Obviously its not 100% perfect, but I would say its 98% OEM quality. Theres a very minimal amount of drone in 7th or 8th gear at about 80 mph, but you learn to drive around it. I would recommend the system. The only downside is the price lol.

IDK if AWE has a Q5 system, but the SQ5 system should probably fit.

The 3.0 is known to be a bit raspy and drone heavy with standard muffler deletes. For some people its not too bad and the cost savings is worth it, but for a close to OEM experience, AWE is 100% the way to go! Watch a video on youtube.
