For those with S6/S7 4.0TT, what kind of oil temps are you seeing? My oil temps seem to be rising faster lately, and reaching higher temps even in casual city driving. Today I saw 219F while sitting at a stop light (via LapTimer). I don't recall seeing a reading that high without spirited driving. I'd say my avg. readings seem 5-7 degree's higher in most driving scenarios than I'm used to seeing.

Once warmed up, I am in this range as well.

I cruise around starting at low 200s. Longer trips (mostly highway) staying 215. Stop and go will stay very consistent around 219/220

Yep, 230F to 230+ with spirited driving in warmer weather. Never recall seeing anything over 240.
FWIW in addition to the the regular (water-to-oil) oil cooler the RS7/S8 have an aux (air-to-oil) oil cooler with it's own oil thermostat that opens at 230F so I figure that is where even the engineers felt extra oil cooling would be needed on the more powerful RS7/S8 motors.
At sea level I'd at least want to see 212F to be sure to remove any moisture, what is DFW about 600ft? Up here in the mountains (6500ft) 200F would be enough. [;)]

Thanks everyone for the input. Sounds like I'm just paranoid and looking for a problem where one does not exist.
