I am trying to locate a set of caliper caps that cover the brake pads, and unfortunately the new calipers did not come with them. Looked up the part number 4H0698618 but the price of these things is utterly ridiculous. $225.00 from audi for a metal cap. [confused]

Re-use the old ones.
Or search the junk yards. They may not sell just the cap and you have to buy a whole used caliper for less than a new cap.

Valpo has a point, i can probably get some trash brake calipers off car-part and steal those covers and then get my core return on the new ones that way. This is for a brake upgrade on an A4. lol

Good luck finding one. At one point, I dropped a set of these off to be sand blasted and they lost the cap. Ended up costing them an entire caliper because they couldn't find a yard that would sell only the cap.

is this just a flat piece of metal that covers those 2 holes? how does it attach.... clip in? glue?
give dimensions or a template to a metal shop and they could cut them out on a laser. paint to match/add stickers. put a small drop of JB weld in each corner, press in place.
if you get me the dimensions, I may even be able to have my shop make these out of aluminum. id also need to know the thickness.
this is a small market, but by the sounds of the alternative of purchasing an entire caliper, these could be sold for good money. lol
EDIT: googled the part number in the first post, i see it screws in. can be found for $160 online. still steep, but better than $225. there is one on ebay for $75 right now.
