S5 interior looks more modern. Virtual cockpit is great. Newer grille on the S5. Both have great APR tunes available. Scared of S6 Turbos. Don't know enough about the S5 turbos to be scared or not. I prefer the S5 4 door body lines. Honestly, exterior wise from the pics both cars are failing to evoke emotion in me. Rims or something doesn't strike a chord with me. Still worried the S5 interior or quality might be a downgrade. I think you'll have to see and drive them .

You have easier access to Audi Dallas which may affect final price when factoring in travel costs/possible shipping. Maybe making wrong comparison; Audi Dallas also lists 2018 S5 VIN:WAUP4AF58JA002616. $4,000 more than the California car and Premium Plus versus Prestige, but much lower mileage and CPO. Based on many other comments at Audizine, whichever you choose make sure to get seller to do complete scan of ECM/TCM to make sure not already flagged as being tuned (and have them give you copy) in the event of future warranty claims.

Good points. And yes I’ll have to research the reliability factors of both.
As for emotional response, I like the S5 as is (but would rather it be the hatchback/4door as I think they look better) - and I would likely leave the exterior alone for the most part.
On the S6 I would probably have my local wrap shop do a Nardo Gray and then either powder coat the rims black or get some aftermarket wheels and get creative. I saw a cool rendition of Nardo Gray on some bronze-ish colored wheels, and if I’m not mistaken they did the rings in the same color on the front grill (as one would with black).

That lower mileage CPO S5 is a better comparison on the back end but the S5 in Cali is just so sexy in my opinion. It just screams look at me/drive me.
I see you have S6 as your profile pic, I believe it is (or avatar - I get them mixed up), so I appreciate you speaking with reason and finding that other S5 rather than just going straight to what it appears that you love.

If I was going to get a smaller Audi sedan I was thinking an older V8 RS5 for fun.

I’ve completely stepped away from the idea of an s6 now due to the fact that I’d be purchasing out of warranty and I just don’t want to deal with the risk of turbo failure.
Are you familiar with the difference between the a6 CREC 3.0t and 2018 s5 3.0T other than the fact that the a6 is supercharged and the s5 is turbocharged?
Any other notable differences that would change the reliability factor between the two?
Funny how quickly things can change when you’re being informed by one of, if not the best Audi forum. [emoji108]

I hear you about warranty, I am getting ready to reextend the warranty on the 2014 RS7 I purchased last year. Love the car but I am also afraid to own it out of warranty too. LOL Since buying my car I have read a lot of this forum.

The A6 3.0 is down on torque and hp in comparison to the S5. You should look up Savagegeese on YT for his review.

I’d take a look over on their forum page. Has to be some good Info there.
I have heard there is a “dead spot” at lower RPM range. Reliability not sure. S5 HB looks are nice. Heard it’s fairly cramped on the inside (makes sense since it’s the model below the 6/7). Also heard the interior does not feel the typical Audi fit and finish
A6 with the CREC is amazing and reliability is top-notch.
FWIW, not a problem being out of warranty... just get an extended warranty or 3rd party VSC for an A6 that’s out of warranty.
Drive’em both before you decide just based on the warranty - always options there
