Hello ya’ll!
I was gifted this rs6 carbon diffuser for a project repair. As you can see it has taken a hit to the left side, but everything else is mint.
I have a last resort ( fiber glass and paint the entire diffuser), but i would first like to try to repair it as is.
I have epoxy resin and s few carbon fiber cloth’s in my garage: but before i go ahead, i would like to check if anyone have tried?

i dont think that's repairable.
hairline cracks are difficult enough to repair in exposed carbon. you've got "large" areas missing. itll never look right.

With the right skill set anything can be done. The problem is going to be with matching up the fiber pattern so its not noticeable on this exposed part. You should be able to achieve a good surface but you will see the pattern mismatch unless you paint it or wrap it.
At this point you are getting into whether its worth the cost to repair. Are you going to have about the same cost as a new part invested with time and labor.

$7,600 list price. $5,200 sale price.
some one would have to be crazy to invest even the $5200 into that.

I know, expensive as ..... i know the epoxy/fiberglass solution will make a strong bond, and its easy to paint. But Will it hold up on an RS?
Also it will probably be a pain to sell?
Might just try and throw it away or something
