hey, gang got my parts(crank pulley, supercharger pulley and heat exchanger) and ready for install. After installation, I need to choose which tune to go with ie , apr, etc. Who can do a trans tune? what else do I need to install for more gains besides intake and exhaust? Thanks.

I have the IE tune with no complaints. As for the trans tune, I went with melen_tcu on IG,he is here on the forums but not very often. Send him a message on IG and he is quick to reply. You just need to buy the hp tuner and credits to save/send your file for him to modify.

As for other things to think about, what about a bigger throttle body? I just changed mine to 80mm,IE has a tune for it, but I haven't driven the car to see a difference yet. I actually haven't driven the car in 3 weeks? so it might be tough to notice unless it is a big difference. I'll prob just visit the dyno again to verify a change.

034 seems to be the latest tune everyone is recommending, which from what I’ve read, seems to include the TCU tune, though I think this might have been a promotional deal or beta tune, as it’s not advertised in their site.

The 034 ZF8 TCU tune was free during the beta testing (I have it), but I believe it is now production ready and sold at a discounted rate. You have to email them for quote, last I heard they were selling the ZF8 tune it for $200ish if you buy their ECU tune.

I don't track the car so I couldn't give you any solid info but I'm sure there would be an improvement. There is no hesitation in between shifts.

I second Melen. The real fun is in manual, but the other modes are quicker in terms of shifting. Highly recommend.

I was told that IE will come out with their TCU tune within the next month for ZF8. I would wait to see what they come up with and how much they would charge.

IE gave you this information ? APR said the same thing 2 years ago.... IE is more S4 dedicated .... 034 seems good with their TCU ECU combo with the A6.... They seem more A6 oriented.

Here's the email I got.

"Hey XXXXXX.

Thanks for reaching out. For the Engine Limited to go up you will need a matching TCU tune, which we have coming soon for the ZF8 trans. Once both files are flashed the limiter will be 7350 rpm. Please let me know if you have any other question's

I asked pricing and when it will be out. To which he responded (this was about a month ago),

"
I don't have an exact date or price. But should be within the next 2 months.

It's mostly my daily, every now and then though I need to switch to my B5 to keep that old girl in check.

The only issue I had,was this tune really showed me that my eng mounts were bad. I knew 1 was bad but after the tune it really pronounced how bad it was. The pass side was a 2 piece design once I got it out lol and the driver side was just a little torn but I replaced both of them with 034 mounts.

For myself, I ended with IE stage 1, 1 week ago. BIG improvement, pull very hard on the highway, manual mode is a beast. Pulley is already ordered, I want to got stage 2 single pulley, my advice go for it right away.

just receive my draggy today, I'll test stock vs stage 1 91 oct file tomorrow.

For the TCU tune, I'm in direct contact with MELEN, I'll go with him.

I dont think IE will release a TCU tune for the ZF8 after all these years, I pretend they are trolling 034...

Unfortunately, unless you are already using HP tuners, it's gonna cost you another $500 in credits and dongle to get the tune flashed. In no way is it melen's fault, but it is a little punch in the gut when mixing ECU/TCU tunes.

Its not 500$ in crédit fellow ! It’s 4 credit at 49.99$ from Hp tuner ;) the big thing is to buy a hp tuner cable as well.

I know what I’m talking about, I did it to my car.

That's what I am meaning, credits and dongle. Dongle is $299, plus $200 in credits, so $500 is the material cost, then you have to pay melen another $500 for his tune file. So if you mix and match ecu/tcu tunes, Melen's tune overall costs a grand.

I need a TCU tune, but I am not really on the fence. The past few days with the cooler weather, I have began to experience what the car can do because I don't have an HX. The car is pretty strong, but the transmission gets confused and doesn't do what I need it to do, when I want it to. Doesn't the HP tuner module offer other features that I can use that I don't have?

Contact Juan melandez on Instagram, he’s the magician you want, trust me ;)

His TCU tune worth every dollars [emoji385]

Find someone around your area with a hp tuner cable , it’s what I did ;)
