I have no affiliation with the company but thought I would share this. It’s a replacement carrier bearing for your driveshaft that doesn’t require separating the driveshaft and can be installed with the drive shaft still on the car if you can get enough room. You cut the bracket off, cut the rubber off the bearing and the new bushing material slips on. I’m going to try one.

Good find and thanks for sharing[up] . You're going for street or track stiffness?

Thanks for posting this. I'm convinced some of my driveline slop is due to the carrier bearing going soft.

EDIT: Product is listed for B6/7 S4/RS4... will need to confirm compatibility.

B6/B7 A4 are the same 100%. S4 should be the same.

I’m waiting for him to fit the finished product to the B6 he has available to ensure the parts he ordered are to spec before I cut up my driveshaft and have to source a used one fast if there’s an issue. His B8 ones fit fine so I’m not too worried, just being cautious. I shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a used drive shaft in a pinch but I’m not gonna roll the dice if I don’t have to.

I’m gonna get the street version. My driveshaft has a tear starting in the rubber but it’s not all the way through...yet.

EA, thanks for sharing this.

I’ll be interested in the track version.

Once I install this and get stiffer diff mounts my teeth are gonna rattle out of my head. And in a lowered Avant too. Nobody is gonna want to ride in my car with me. 🤣 Avant problems.
