A dealer told me there was a stop sale on all 2020 A6/A7’s. Is this true? I’d so anyone know why?

Why would that put them on a hold though? I don’t see why the 20’s that are already here couldn’t be sold

That would really suck for Audi...... I ended up buying a 2018 S6 last February for a steal after the PODS stop sale issue on the C7.5 cars. Was in for service the week before last and saw the C8 S6..... beautiful car!!!!

I unfortunately missed out on the deal on the 18’s [emoji22]. And I’ve been waiting for the RS6, but with that timeline never ending I may just jump the gun.

I saw a C8 S6 Black optics yesterday in a parking lot. Feel in love.

But why is there a stop sale on cars that are already here? Like why can’t I go into my dealer and buy a 2020 A6 that’s on the lot already?

I was just told that my 2020 S7 that finished production on the 7th of February is still in Germany. It appears that a car that takes 8 days to build needs 51 days for "additional quality" inspections. AoA doesn't seem to know exactly what happened to cause this delay. I'm thinking of asking them to just build a new one. If you can't fix it in the same time it takes to build a new car, what could have happened?

Some manufacturers have stopped, reduced production, to retool and make ventilators. Others have due to health concerns for workers.

I don’t think you guys are 100% understanding what I’m asking....

The 20’s that are in the lot right now at the dealer. Why can I not buy one of them? Besides the dealer being closed

If it is on the lot, you can buy it. No reported stop sale on the C8, S6 or S7.

My local dealer will even deliver sanitized Audi’s to your home for a test drive. All models, no exclusions. Not sure why a dealer would make such a ridiculous statement. They will also still pickup and deliver your existing Audi for service.

It might be state based. Here in PA, auto repair locations can operate but sales floors cannot...so nothing is being sold. I can setup an appointment to have my car serviced, but even if I wanted to a buy a car on the lot, through the internet and never step into the dealer to social distance etc., I can't because all car sales have been stopped by the governor.

Here in PA I just got a email from a local Land Rover where they will sell me a lot car with 0% interest. I think it is up to the dealership if they want to do sales without the showroom. Local Audi dealership is closed.

If you see a Silver RS6 in the future it's probably me.

Nice, I'll watch for it. I ordered mine in Navarra. There are 2 others locally - Nardo and Sebring Black - that are active and posting in the RS6 thread. We've almost got the entire launch palate locally!

I thought the A6 was being assembled in their Neckarsulm plant

Yeah I don’t understand it either. At least here the local dealers sales departments are blatantly closed all together. Only service is open. Kinda a shame considering I just watched a Hyundai ad or something and they talked about how they’ll deliver your new car right to your garage.

Dealers in this area are "closed" but will take appointments for test drive/purchase. Perhaps there is a still a way to contact them? I'm pretty certain I can do everything by sign online at this point.

I believe NY is more locked down than most states, except maybe California.

I purchased my last car from Wisconsin based on some pics and discussion with them. They Fedex Overnighted me the paperwork, I sent it back next day, and within 3 days, had officially purchased a car. Just a couple months before, I had closed on my house, where I signed most of the paperwork online via DocuShare. Idk why either of those two options couldn't happen, either.

Although I do understand if 1. dealer Salespeople are not considered "essential", and 2. if they don't want to risk contracting a potentially life-threatening virus because someone wants to buy a car.

Here in Rochester, NY, you can now make an appointment in the showroom, but not sure if actual purchases/transactions are still restricted.

There's a stop sale in place for A6 that's due to a starter / generator recall. Don't know anything about stop sale on A7.
