Does anyone know this guy? He is in Genoa,IL. So this guy has been trying to a sell his S7 400mm brake set. He decided to start an eBay auction and I won. This was Friday. Paid for it immediately. I just got notification that the money has been refunded. He told me Friday that someone messaged him to tell me he lost the brakes so they could buy them. Now he isn’t answering texts. Did I just get screwed out of a winning bid on eBay???

Yeah, but sounds like you got your money back, leave him a neg feedback here in the feedback section and on eBay and move on. At least you got your money back

That’s very true. I’m just hoping it was a mistake. I need those brakes.

Yeah, you got screwed, report it to eBay and Paypal. That's a total a$$ move and against eBay policy.

I’d give it more time and try and sort the situation, cooler heads usually prevail.
I’d be pissed too.
Thanks for putting out a good dude alert on milkyboy though, now we know to avoid business with him.

Definitely. I have confirmed thanks to minty that he did indeed sell them to a local buyer and more than likely for more money. Shady shit.

That’s really shady. I messaged him about an exhaust a while back and never got a response. He lives fairly close to me

Maybe post a new thread over in classifieds so people are aware of this BS and can avoid him.
Gotta help me understand here. On a lot of ebay sales, sellers say that their item is also for sale locally which can end the auction. If that local sale was pretty much simultaneous and seller did make more money, what is the problem? Its unfortunate what happened to the OP, but he got a refund. Its when he loses money is a big problem.

I agree it’s not as big of a deal since I got my money back. But people need to know about the shady character. And as far as a simultaneous local and eBay issue There was no mention of a local buyer outbidding me I won the auction and paid for the item. There was also no note of local selling

Report it to eBay and PayPal and leave a negative review into his system with eBay. About all you can do at this point.

Got it. No note of local selling. That is something seller should have indicated. There are lots of sellers posting their stuff locally on Craigslist, Offerup, and any other means.

I get that; with the super steep fees from ebay and paypal, definitely better to sell local if you can get the sale. But he should have stated that in the auction listing at the least.

Money was refunded, move on with your life.
Yes its a dick move, but what can you do. Its not like he scammed out of money or something.
You got your money back. Nothing worth getting this upset about IMHO.

All is well, I understand OP being annoyed, and now we know to avoid business with this guy.

Yea, negative review and move on. At most, report to ebay about the situation so the guy at least gets tagged with the listing fee or a strike. Sales on ebay are binding contracts, backing out on either side to save fees or buy a lower cost item somewhere else is simply bad business.
