Hi all,

Last night I was driving home and the car felt a bit sluggish. Weather was cold at 0C. I had the center display set to lap timer which display's engine temperature and has the virtual boost bar on the left.

Putting the car in manual mode and flooring it in third gear I didn't see the boost gage go past the half way point. I also did some additional run's in S mode and in second gear to third gear WOT runs the boost bar never went past 1/2.

Is this normal or should the bar go to full at some points in time?

I'll try to see if I can try again tonight and log via vagcom. What settings do I need to use to log as I haven't logged my car yet?

Thanks for thoughts/suggestions.

Greg

Was your engine at normal operating temperature?

Yes it was at 93C. I’d been driving the car for at least 20 min.

Did you hear a hissing sound? Could be a boost leak.

I had it long time ago...tured out to be 1 of the two boost pressure sensors that went bad. No biggy but i was shocked it wouldn't throw an error on the display. It was only when i read out the car the error was shown. If not mistaken it was having simular symptoms....run fine but no peak boost and half working boost bar. Boost pressure sensor was something of 80€ if not mistaken.
*edit: in case the scan doesn't say it is the boost sensor....you might want to check requested and actual boost and compair.
