Ok so I have a new set of Vossen VFS-6 wheels. 20x9 ET25 fronts and 20x10.5 ET42 rears. OEM wheels are 20x8.5 ET45 squared with 255/35/20s.
I am having a difficult time deciding what tires to put on the VFS-6s. Here are the 2 choices:
275/30/20 squared (https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=255-35-20X8.5ET45&wheel2=275-30-20X10.5ET42&fcl=50mm&scl=50mm&wcl=30mm&sr=0mm)
245/35/20 fronts (https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=255-35-20X8.5ET45&wheel2=245-35-20X9ET25&fcl=50mm&scl=50mm&wcl=30mm&sr=0mm) and 285/30/20 rears (https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=255-35-20X8.5ET45&wheel2=285-30-20X10.5ET42&fcl=50mm&scl=50mm&wcl=30mm&sr=0mm)
The links show the difference between OEM and new size. Here is the staggered setup (https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=245-35-20X9ET25&wheel2=285-30-20X10.5ET42&fcl=50mm&scl=50mm&wcl=30mm&sr=0mm).
I know that 275/30/20 is going to be slightly fat on the 20x9s and slightly stretched on the 20x10.5s. The staggered tire setup is a perfect fit. There is an 8mm total diameter difference between OEM and the staggered setup, while the 275/30/20 squared setup has a 14mm difference from OEM.
This discussion is only because of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tire prices really. I can get the 275/30/20 for $164/ea, the 285/30/20 for $200/ea, and the 245/35/20 for $250/ea. That's quite a large difference in $$$, $656 vs. $900.
So what do you think?
