I recently replaced my driveshaft due to support carrier failure. unfortunately for C7 the whole driveshaft needs to be replaced you cant replace them seperately i guess.

recently Ive started having symptoms of my driveshaft carrier failing AGAIN (high rpm vibration, click noise at low speeds) I am not trying to replace the whole thing again

i found this solution and I wish i found it sooner, but the only issue is it says it only fits s6/s7/rs7, but shouldnt it fit A7 too? I'm like 80% sure but I need confirmation, its a little too expensive to take a gamble

heres the link

basically installation is just cutting off the old one and bolting this one on, pretty simple compared to driveshaft replacement.

and before anyone asks, YES i do launch my car a lot, and YES i do drive it hard so I am looking for a permanent fix, this looks good because its used on RS7 too which have way more torque hope someone can chime in on if it works on A7

AFAIK this only replaces the rubber bearing support, not the bearing itself. If your bearing is failed then you are sol, but could use this when you replace the driveshaft again.

When my last one failed it started with the same vibrations but I didn’t know what it was and kept driving on it hard until it turned into violent thumping then I got it checked and turns out the whole support was gone so it broke off my assumption now is maybe the rubber part is ripped or compromised so I was hoping this would fix it before the whole support snaps again

I always find it interesting when people take a poll... will it fit?

Why not just contact the manufacturer directly? Get it straight from the source...

I emailed them 3 days ago, I’ll update when I find out

Well an A7 isn't a 4.0T motor, so a good and reasonable question would be... Are the driveshafts even the same between A/S/RS? Considerable power differences between the 6 and the 8cyl motors. Then again, VAG loves to use a lot of common parts between models... Keep us posted

UPDATE I got the SRM carrier it gets rid of that weird shudder, no need to change whole driveshaft. I can now launch it hard without any worries
