I have been wanting to powder coat my calipers and perhaps my wheels and some suspension items. My question is this, with how inexpensive some sand blasters and powder coating guns are, why aren't more people doing their own work?
Harbor Freight $119.99 (https://www.harborfreight.com/benchtop-blast-cabinet-62454.html)
Eastwood Powder Coat Gun $174.95 (https://www.amazon.com/Eastwood-Voltage-Powder-Durable-Handheld/dp/B07W9978ZD/ref=sr_1_4?crid=24HIJMDJWXTU4&keywords=eastwood+powder+coat+gun&qid=1578943126&sprefix=eastwood+powder+coat+gun%2Caps%2C770&sr=8-4)
The paint is only $20/lb (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I1RL11G/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AFFM7X34O1N2F&psc=1)
Seems like it could be a lucrative business for a DIYer.
Thoughts?
