ST Coilovers Noise

Hello, I don't actually have an a4 but instead a Seat Exeo which is the same thing. The problem i am having is a Knocking sound over small to medium bumps on the front Coilovers ( ST X ). I've made sure everything is tight but i still have the clunk. There is a smalll washer underneath the topmount bush which in the instructions says not to fit, could this be the cause of the clunk?

I think the washer sits underneath the Bush, I've replaced the Bush with an aftermarket one so might try putting the OEM audi one back on
