Licence plate might screw stuck - impossible to unscrew

Hey everyone,

Changing my licence plate lights but both screw holding the light were damaged. The one in the right was drilled and had a hole in it and managed to unscrew it and replaced it with a new screw.

However for the left one, for the life of me nothing is working. I tried with an elastic, applied wd40 to it but nothing. The screw is severely damage and my tools has 0 grip

I've seen that it was a common problem on the b6 and b7, I read a lot of posts of people saying they struggled to unscrew it but eventually managed to do it but without saying how they did.

Would you guys have any advice or technic to try nd removed it.

I'm thinking to try epoxy glue a screw driver to the screw, wait til it solders and try to unscrew it

Drill through the remains completely.

The epoxy glue trick won’t work here.

I replaced my license plate/trunk handle assembly twice (because I broke the new one when installing, the plastic screws are SUPER fragile...). $150 from Audi, total ripoff.

Take a Dremel and carve the plastic license plate light around the screw, one the light is removed unscrew with Pliers.

A new light will cost around 40$ from dealer

If you have the right tools, anything is possible. I had used a Milwaukee right angle adapter to my torque driver, and found a bit that sits somewhat snug, and held almighty pressure till it came out. It’s not always easy, but it’s do-able

Drill it out. Those screws are a huge pita and strip.out easy.
