265/35 - 18

I think I have it narrowed down to either the

Michelin Pilot Spost PS2 or the
Goodyear Eagle F1

What does everyone else like or have to say about these 2 choices.

Eagle F1s are known for not wearing well and making a lot of road noise after their broken in...

PS2's are the new hotness with lots of good reviews, but the BMW techs I know dont like them on the 5-series cars.

Your call. You'll have fun either way.

I second the fact that Eagle F1's are not the way to go. Not sure about the PS2's though...

Just curious, why not the stock size 255 35 18? Why go 265?

265 for no real big reason other than I want to plus it would give the rims a little more protection and have a little more rubber on the ground.

I am still unsure about what tire to go with. The car has a set of Goodyear HP-R's on it right now on the stock wheels. I am going to use the stock wheels for true winter tires.

Do you know of any more factory RS6 rims around?

Wow this kind of surprises me to get so few replies to this. I thought with this crowd there would be a bunch of guys who have tried several different types of tires.

I know I could tell U what I think of atleast 15 different types of offroad tires and give you a real honest accurate impression of each tire...

Please restore my faith in the world of tuner geeks... What have you guys tried and liked?

Most people would agree that some of the top tires would be- Bridgestone Potenza S03s (I have them in 225/40/18 on my DPEs), Pilot Sport, and Toyo T1Rs.

I love my Potenza RE750's. Before that I had ContiExtremes... great a/s tire (got me through 7" of snow on unplowed roads), but not one you'd want to push hard. Ive been playing with Dunlop Sport Maxx's on the new IS350's at work, and they seem to be a great tire as well...

several mags. have tested tires in the last couple of months.F1 have won every test while the the PS2 has finished middle of the pack for a lot more $.What kind of performance are you looking for?Max dry or allround real world performance?

Well I want great dry grip but the real world where I live gets rain, in the case of last summer LOTS AND LOTS of rain. But that one was a little strange.

So the F1's won these tire tests, where did some of the others stack up ?????

From what I have heard I kind of like the F1's, Toyo T1R's and the PS2's.

Second the F1s, had them before in 18s and they did me well.

I had F1's on my Jetta GLI and they were fantastic.

F1 ended first, continental tire fared well in the test.

Note sure what to go with on my car either, was thinking f1's.
