Hi, my 2010 S4 has 40k miles exact DSG and i have the horrid second gear to 1st jerk. It can become so bad like it really JOLTS you forward.

Usually happens if I drive the car for a good distance or just alot in a day.

Also if its acting up, putting it into park or reverse theres also a big/bad jolt forward.

I know people get the transmission mount but does this help at all before I waste money?

Anyone with some experience?

thanks

I think the trans mount and insert only help with vibration. (Could be wrong). Have you done a trans service on the car? As that seemed to help mine, and where I would start.

Also I have a CTS trans mount insert in and only noticed reduced vibration.

It's your mechatronics unit failing, not the transmission mounts.

Mechatronic failure - just had mine finished yesterday and had the same problems, now it shifts and launches like butter!

You did the mech repair kit or replaced the entire mech unit?

Replaced the entire mech, the pcb’s were cracked and couldn’t be bother to investigate the solenoids any further. Pulled the unit and replaced with a new one

Last question - did you have to have it towed to the dealer for adaption/coding? Or can you code via a vagcom?

Where’d you buy the mech unit from?

This^ then if you have done it in the last 3 years ...

Dealer did everything under warranty. I believe these units have component protection on them, so a connection with ODIS is required.
