Hello,

I have an 2011 S4 with 120.000km and I'm about to replace the thermostat and some other stuff like belts, pulleys, gaskets and the water pump. Decided to take a look at the valves and clean them if necessary.

I'm not a specialist but managed to remove the supercharger and the intake manifold, but honestly i dont know how to continue to clean the valves.

What happens if something of the deposit falls into the cylinder, as some of the valves are open ?

I could try to turn the engine manually [confused]

You see I'm not sure what to do and also afraid if something goes wrong and cause engine damage.

What you guys would recommend ?

Thank you

For turning the engine over I really didn’t struggle too much... just yank on the supercharger pulley. I’d also recommend covering other valves you aren’t cleaning with tape, and make sure to cover all the coolant lines and injectors and such. Otherwise it really isn’t that bad cleaning the valves.

Thanks for your reply.

Could it cause damage if something falls into the cylinder while cleaning ?

btw. should I also change the seals from the injectors ?

btw. should I also change the seals from the injectors ?You should not be cleaning if the valves are not perfectly closed and absolutely nothing goes into the combustion chamber. I think I read u can test by adding some safe liquids on the valves to test if they leak to the combustion chamber.

Your valves look fine though? They don't look bad, but why leaving them dirty like that if he is already there.

Thank you guys, could clean the valves without any problems.

Time to take care of the supercharger. Would like to drain the coolant, the oil and refill with ACDelco oil 10-4041 and new coolant G13 after reassembly.

Figured out the bleeder bolts are made of plastic and have to be replaced anyway, such as the drain plug.

Is there anything else I should do to the supercharger ?
