Hey yall I am at my wits end with a rattle in the rear driver side door. Basically ever since I bought the car in November of last year there has been this incessant rattle in the driver side rear door and when I would hold down a trim piece it would go away but when I’m not holding it its the most annoying thing known to man. I even popped the piece that rattled off and its still there and I dont know what the hell it is. I took it to my mechanic and he didnt know what it is just lubed it with vaseline and it did nothing. I provided some pics maybe you guys can figure it out.

That would drive me nuts as well. Sounds like you are going to have to disassemble the door one piece at a time and then keep driving until you find the culprit.

FWIW the trim piece you have popped off I covered in dynamat on all 4 doors; really solved my door rattles.

Do you have any pictures of how you did it?

So I tore off the speaker grill and it did not stop so I just put my ear to the door and started moving around and it’s coming from the inside at the very left around the little red light on the side of the door. I guess I gotta rip the inner door panel off does any one have any tutorials?

I am getting a similar sound from my rear passenger door... I will be checking that same spot, as i can't isolate it in the door handle area!

I’ve never heard anyone complain about it but it could be a common problem!

The mirror should just be a couple of bolts behind the tweeter cover.
Are you sure it is not the rubber door seal making noise? If you hold the door tightly closed while someone else drives and the noise stops, it could be the rubber weather stripping. Very common noise.

Alright yall so I ended up popping the door panel up a bit where the noise was coming from and i saw a little broken plastic piece which I could only assume is the culprit. When i lifted the panel up the noise stopped completely so as a temporary solution I stuffed a piece of cardboard inbetween the panel and the door and that has pretty much completely solved the rattle. Im gonna look into sound deadening foam next

Good to hear you've isolated the noise. Are you saying that the plastic piece involved is one of the clips that hold the door panel in place? If so, those are relatively inexpensive and should be in stock at your local dealer.

try the plastic piece that’s under the lid of the center console. Ripped it out the weekend I got my car, no more noise.
