Hey all
Though I'd share my experience. Had a black screen. All buttons worked but the screen was off. It opened and closed fine.

Low and behold had the same issue. Pull the display out and connected the ohm meter to the power connector and saw it was 0 ohms which means it was shorted.
I started squeezing around to narrow down the broken wiring and found it. Cut out the fabric and saw the insulation split open on both + and - wires.
Honestly I opted out of cutting resoldering and wire shrinking because I didnt want the wires to lose its flexibility. So I just took electrical tape and wrapped the single wire up on each so they dont touch anymore. And put everything back together. Despite the pictures angle making it look like the wire is hanging on its final thread they were pretty much all intact.
Lastly i replaced the display Fuse on passenger panel and voila... back up and running. 147408
