In need of some opinions from my Audi brethren...
I had an AWE Touring Exhaust Suite installed on my C7.5 a while back. Overall, the set-up is great. However, the one thing that has been bothering me is the length that the exhaust tips stick out from the back of the car. I know that several of you with the same set-up have also expressed the same sentiment. I even went back to my installer and had them "push" the entire exhaust unit as far forward under the car as they could. (And before anyone asks... yes, I double-checked that the tips were installed correctly)
My options are:
Keep them as-is and live with them
Have a local muffler shop cut them back to be more flush with the rear of the car
Look at changing the tips
Any advice would be appreciated!

It's your car, so I say if it bothers you do whatever it takes to make YOU happy. I have to agree with you though, It's a bit too far out. Beautiful ride btw.

The tips on the B8.5 AWE systems aren’t fixed into position; can you undo the clamp and slide them further onto the resonator’s outlet?
Mine are all held on with a clamp and a 10mm bolt.

Same on the A7, but even with the tips pushed in all the way, they still protrude to varying degrees on these cars. I've been thinking of having the back of my tips shaved down a bit.

This. My pics show the tips pushed all the way back.
Cutting/shaving the tips would be difficult, because there's only enough room to accommodate only the clamps.
i'm beginning to think that Option #2 may be the most viable. I think there's about 2"- 3" inches of exhaust tubing that the tips clamp on to, so maybe cutting those and remounting the clamps is the solution.
I'll need to crawl under the car to confirm.

Your car, but I don't like them sticking out.

i personally like the way they look. but if i didnt, i would swap out the tips for something else instead of modifying them so resell would be a bit easier

honest opinion is they stick out too much - would rather have them aligned similar to the OEM-too-small-for-everyone tips

As long as your tips don't look like this then you will be fine.

like they said, its all you
the nice part is : you can tell its not a stock exhaust.
also: if it costs 0 to push them in via clamp then do it. Otherwise if it costs money to remove and re-weld: personally wouldn't bother with it.
