Curiosity got the better of me, and using an OBDEleven Pro I enabled “Efficiency” mode.
This is my DD, and I average 20.5 MPG, given a mix of about 60/40 highway/street driving.
Observation 1: the car feels like it got neutered! Your butt-dyno will be the first to tell you about the
definite lack of “oomph”. You can’t just blip the throttle and feel the rush. You slowly get used to it.
Observation 2: I got about 21 MPG, probably because I was subconsciously trying to coax it along.
As far as increased fuel efficiency, any number of factors could've come into play for an extra .5 MPG.
Conclusion: Just don’t do it; it's not worth it at all. Once I re-enabled Dynamic Mode my butt-dyno immediately noticed
the difference: the “get up and go!” had returned. My big wide goofy grin had returned. The world was right again.
