View Full Version : Stain on windshield?

So I parked my SQ in a parking garage last week, was there for about an hour. When I returned to the car I noticed that a small amount of liquid had dripped on my windshield. Annoyed because I had literally just washed the car, I wiped it off with a cleaning towel I keep in the car and thought nothing more of it cause it looked like water. Few hours later I noticed in different lighting that there was a stain of sorts of where the water had been hitting on the windshield and the drip path down the windshield. It can only be seen at certain angles and certain lighting.

I've washed the car and cleaned the glass a couple times since noticing this as well as tried claying the area. There is no texture to the stained area. My next thought was to break out the polisher and hit it with a cutting polish but I won't be able to do that for a few more days. Has anyone encountered this type of thing before? If so, what are some recommendations to remove this stain? Pics below!

Thanks for any suggestions/tips!

You're going to break out the polisher.
When I bought used s5, I didnt notice a stain on the glass. I washed but didnt clay it. A detailer said it seems its etched in the glass. So he took out a small polisher and luckily it buffed out.

I wonder what liquid dropped on there that would etch into the glass?

Did you happen to look up and c if something was dripping?

Luckily it didnt get on your paint

I didn't really pay much attention to the liquid nor the pipe it was dripping from. It looked like water, clear, same viscosity, so I just wiped it off the wind shield and left. Here's hoping it buffs out when I pull out the polisher in a couple days.

Not sure what it was but the polisher and a cutting pad made short work of it. All better!
