My new to me c7 a6 is having a issue with trunk and tailight

Its a 2013 a6 with 70k miles on it coming from a b5 s4 its a much different car and i love this car so far ( 2 weeks 1500 miles) just have had a few problems already on a car. Dealer replaced the front controll arms. And now needs a wheel bearing and possibly motor mount.....


But onto the newest problem that started today. It raied out lightly today and i had the sunroof open. Inside the cabin didnt get wet at all. But drining home (also raining) after 15 miles i got a light on dash for drivers side brake light/turn signal.

Got out of car when i got home and checked the turn signal and that wokred fine i can't check taillight i was home alone. Tried poping truck from door button. No go. Tried from key. No go and trunk button from putside near liscence plate... still no go. Had to crawl in from cabin and use emergency release to open.....


Opened up the compartment on driverside and notices literally only 3 drops of water under evrything.

Not sure about the light issues but are you sure the valet mode isn't activated. That would certainly lock you out of the trunk. It's activated by a little button inside the glove compartment.

Thanks! valet mode was on.. that fixed trunk issue i feel like an idiot cause i knew about that too but didnt even think to check cause of the issue with the tailight at same time

Now to figure out the tail light. I only have older vagcom for b5s ect.... so cant scan till next week unfortunately

Thanks in advancedDid you end up finding a fix for the taillights? Mine has been warning me off and on all week and they look like they are working just fine

So I had this happen to my s6 1led burns out and your screwed I got 50k on my car and already replaced a tailight.147559

Check your rear side markers. I had the left rear side marker go out and it triggered the tail light failure dash alarm.
